New Delhi: Despite great reviews from critics and audiences, Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Haider' has managed to crawl only towards Rs 50 crores.
According to reports, 'Bang Bang' has managed to rake in Rs 140 crores at the domestic BO on the second Friday after its release. 'Haider' has done well, mainly through word of mouth, and earned Rs 41.36 crores at the domestic market and an additional Rs 10.43 crores at the international market.
Based on William Shakespeare's tragedy 'Hamlet', the movie is set in Kashmir. Shahid Kapoor, Shradha Kapoor, Tabu and Kay Kay Menon have awed the audience with some stellar performances. But, the clash with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starring, 'Bang Bang' may have cost the movie some Box Office gains.
Touted as Shahid's career best performance, 'Haider' is the third installment to the shakespearean tragedies that Vishal has adapted for Indian cinema. The movie is still steady at the BO, even with a tough competition with 'Bang Bang'.
