New Delhi: A famous RJ turned VJ and now a successful actor cum singer- this young lad from Chandigarh left the audience amazed by his acting prowess and charm. With Ayushmann Khuranna- the man with one head and many hats- turning a year older, lets take a look at his journey.
Born in a middle class family to astrologer P. Khurrana and house maker Poonam Khurrana, success didn’t come easy for Ayushmann. After completing his education from School of Communication Studies, Punjab University, he did theatre for five years. Acting was undoubtedly his forte, but winning the ‘Roadies Season 2’ gave him the major break his career. He went on to host several talent-hunt and dance shows.
It was John Abraham’s ‘Vicky Donor’- helmed by Shoojit Sircar- which gave him the much needed debut in Bollywood. Ayushmann wooed the audience by the skilful representation of a typical Delhiite aka ‘sperm donor’. Not only was the movie successful in creating ripples at the Box Office, but also received positive response from some of the top critics.
Ayushmann’s next was Rohan Sippy’s ‘Nautanki Saala’ which was also appreciated by the critics. The film was a moderate hit, but Khurrana’s performance was highly praised by the audience as well as critics.
Not only were his acting skills appreciated by the critics and the audience, he also recorded couple of songs for his movies. Out of which ‘Pani Da’ from ‘Vicky Donor’ got him several awards and was a chart topper for weeks.
Khurrana is all set to charm the audience by his upcoming projects- ‘Hamara Bajaj’ and Yash Raj Films` Untitled Next.
