New Delhi: The one-man army that Himmesh Reshammiya is known to be is turning 40 today. Himmesh started his journey in the Hindi film industry with the help of ever-generous Salman Khan. `Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya` was Himmesh`s début film as a music composer. There was never a dull moment for this singer-turned-actor after `Pyaar...` became a musical sensation.
However, it was `Aashiq Banaya Aapne` which made Himmesh a household name. He rose to fame with songs such as `Aapki Kashish`, ` Tera Suroor` , `Zara Jhoom Jhoom`, and ` Aashiq Banaya Aapne` title track. This film marked the début of former Miss India Tanushree Dutta. With this film, Himmesh`s famous nazal voice saw fans imitating his style of singing in huge numbers.
He literally became a nationwide rage. It seemed this man is unstoppable—he did draw flak for singing in a particular way but that didn`t really stop him from becoming common man`s most heard singer. Himmesh even won the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award in 2006 for Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Post his successful music career, the singer decided to try his hands in acting as well.
His acting skills however, failed to impress the masses. He made his debut with `Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story` alongside South actress Hansika Motwani . More recently, he featured in `Akshay Kumar starrer `Khiladi 786` for which he was presented the Phalke Best Supporting Actor Award.
Salman`s most loved performance in `Tere Naam` even fetched Himmesh Zee Cine Award for Best Music Director and Screen Award Best Music Director. On his birthday, we hope that continues to enthrall the audience with his soulful songs. We wish him a melodious happy birthday!
