New Delhi: Bollywood's most favourite dimpled beauty Preity Zinta celebrates her birthday today. The chirpy actress made her impressive debut in 'Dil Se' (1998) followed by 'Soldier' in the same year. Both the roles were poles apart, and the actress got noticed for the freshness she bought on screen.
Preity received Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, and got everyone talking about her for 'Kya Kehna' (2000), where she was seen playing a teenage single mother. The 40-year-old actress ruled the silver screens for more than a decade, and went on to feature in top grade films with all the three Khans.
The bubbly actress received Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2003 for her performance in Dharma productions 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and even worked with the legendary Yash Chopra in 'Veer Zaara' in 2004. Preity was the most sough-after actresses of her time. She played the modern girl in 'Salaam Namaste' opposite Saif Ali Khan, while she was again the uber classy wife in 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Preity even owns an IPL team, 'Kings XI Punjab' and she actively cheers for her team whenever on ground. The brave Himachali girl was the only witness not to retract in court against the Indian mafia during the 2003 Bharat Shah case, for which she was even awarded the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award.
The actress has worked with all the major filmmakers and A-lister actors. In fact, she and Rani Mukherji were loved by the audiences for playing sisters in 'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke'(2001), as their on screen chemistry looked so real.
