Happy Birthday Sonu Sood!

New Delhi: Sonu Sood is one actor who knows no language barrier when it comes to his profession as an actor. This Punjabi boy from Moga, didn`t have a smooth sailing in Bollywood. He gradually made his way into the film industry from modelling to featuring in advertisements—and now into becoming a full fledged actor. The 40-year-old actor celebrates his birthday today and has two big films—`Entertainment` and `Happy New Year` lined up for release this year.
Sood made his debut into the world of cinema in the year 1999 with Tamil film `Majunu` and `Kallazhagar`. However, his film `Majunu` was released in 2001 which helped him garner instant recognition in the Tamil film industry. And, it was with Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in 2002, that Sood made his Hindi film acting debut.
What followed was a number of good roles and critically appreciated performances by the actor. He established himself as an anti-hero, who certainly got all the notice and rave reviews from the movie lovers. Sood is well-known for his work down South, but it was with `Dabangg` (2010) that he started getting all the media attention and plum deals in Bollywood.
Sood also got noticed for his performance as Abhishek Bachchan`s brother in Mani Ratnam`s `Yuva` and in `Aashiq Banaya Aapne`. The actor is well-remembered for playing Rajkumar Sujamal in `Jodha Akbar` too .
The character-actor who can perform in many languages, will be next seen in Akshay Kumar starrer `Entertainment`, which is slated to hit the silver screens on August 8, 2014 and also his other big release happens to be Shah Rukh Khan`s `Happy New Year`, hitting theatres on October 23, 2014.
