Hrithik Roshan almost quit films after 'Jodhaa Akbar'
Mumbai: He is the heartthrob of the nation who has girls sighing at his very sight. But at one point of time, Hrithik Roshan was on the verge of giving up acting as he went into depression after shooting the cult film ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.
The dishy actor had sustained such serious injuries during the shoot that he had decided to give up on the profession altogether. Battling knee injuries caused during the epic film, Hrithik felt that he could not do justice to his field, if he could not dance and perform stunts.
"Before beginning shooting for `Kites`, I was trying to get my knee treated and doctors said it will not be able function. I was heartbroken and was even contemplating an alternative career in singing or direction," said Hrithik.
The actor wondered how he could compromise with his work as an actor when he could not jump or dance. The actor has been hurt previously too during the shoot of stunt sequences in `Krrish` and `Dhoom 2`. Even in `Kites`, he suffered hand injuries as he met with an accident while enacting a scene of breaking the window.
"I was on crutches. It was an emotional scene and my mind was in the character. The accident was a good reminder to be aware that you can hurt yourself even in small actions," he said.
However, Anurag Basu`s script was so strong that he got into the skin of the character which helped him forget his pains. "Within a week of shooting, my knee pain just disappeared," he said.
