Preity Zinta to record statement again, two witnesses questioned

Actress Preity Zinta on Saturday reacted to the news of her filing a molestation case against her ex-boyfriend and business partner, industrialst Ness Wadia.

New Delhi: Actress Preity Zinta filed an FIR against business partner and ex boyfriend Ness Wadia, in Mumbai on Thursday. She charged him for molestation and assault among other charges. Preity Zinta's Reaction Actress Preity Zinta on Saturday reacted to the news of her filing a molestation case against her ex-boyfriend and business partner, industrialst Ness Wadia. The actress said that she is concerned about her safety and is only trying to protect herself. Noting that she is going through a difficult time, Preity said that her intention is not to hurt anyone`s self-esteem, and that she expects the media to respect her privacy. In another revelation, it has been learnt that at the time of the incident, Wadia was present along with his girlfriend and his parents at the V.I.P stand. Police statement Mumbai police on Saturday started their probe into Preity`s charges against Wadia filed on Thursday night, the in city`s Marine Drive police station alleging that he molested, harassed and threatened her.  The incident supposedly took place on May 30 during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Wankhede stadium in South Mumbai. The match was between Chennai Super Kings and Kings X1 Punjab. Sources said that as per the FIR the incident happened at 8:30 pm and mentions that Ness allegedly grabbed Zinta`s hand and used abusive words against her leaving Preity quite baffled. The FIR mentions that the two had altercations in the past as well, during which Preity had warned Ness of action in the future. Preity gave a written complaint following which an FIR was registered against Wadia under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). Ness Wadia's Reaction Ness, however, has denied the allegations labelling them as false and baseless. "I am shocked at the complaint and the allegations made against me are totally false and baseless," Wadia said in a statement. We are trying to collect evidence like the statements of those involved an and CCTV footage." Preity, who is currently out of the country will apparently have to record her statement again. The police will take into questioning all the staff members of the Wankhede stadium, as the CCTV footage failed to provide any essential clues to the case. The police however will be looking for the witnesses list who were present at that time, and would be be taking them in for questioning. Two witnesses have been named by the actress who were present during the altercation. The police has recorded the statement of the witnesses on Saturday night The History Both Ness, 44, and Preity, 39, are co-owners of the Punjab IPL team. The actor and the Bombay Dyeing heir were in a relationship for five years but it subsequently ended. However, they continued with their professional relationship at the Kings XI Punjab, who finished runners-up at 2014 edition of the IPL. Zinta is known to speak her mind and was in the news for being the only witness not to retract in court her earlier statements against the underworld during the 2003 Bharat Shah case. She was awarded the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award for this. As for Ness, he belongs to the Wadia family and is currently the Managing Director of the Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation. This is a company which has holdings in most of the Wadia Group subsidiaries, including an indirect majority stake in Britannia Industries. Also Watch full report:
