I fail to understand connection between PM’s Pak visit and Karan Johar’s film: Shatrughan Sinha reacts to Anurag Khashyap's tweets

Mumbai: A few days back, Anurag Kashyap drew flak for questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his visit to Pakistan last year. According to a number of people, the filmmaker behaved unreasonably by targeting the PM to get into news. And now, veteran actor-BJP senior leader Shatrughan Sinha has reacted to Anurag’s comments.

Kashyap had tried draw a parallel between two unrelated issues – a) the ban on Pakistani artists and technicians in India by the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association and the Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India’s decision to boycott films starring artists from the other side of the border; b) the Prime Minister’s impromptu visit to Pakistan in December last year as a gesture to strengthen diplomatic ties with Pakistan.

Sinha reacted strongly to Anurag’s tweets that questioned the PM about his Pak visit.  “This doesn’t make any sense to me. Let’s not trivialise our PM’s historic visit, which every country in the world praised. I fail to understand the connection between the PM’s flash-visit to Pakistan and Karan Johar’s film. Nor do I understand the connection between Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap,” dnaindia.com quoted Sinha as saying.

He also said, “Let’s not undermine our PM’s brave efforts just because at this moment those efforts seem to have come to a deadlock. Anurag and all those criticising the PM for his supposedly soft attitude to Pakistan should remember, political dynamics change rapidly. Today’s friendly neighbour becomes tomorrow’s sworn enemy , and vice versa.”
