I need to stay fit for long struggle ahead: Shatrughan Sinha

Mumbai: Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, who underwent a bypass surgery in 2012, was recently admitted to a hospital here. He says it was a routine check-up and that he needs to stay in the pink of health.
"It was a routine check up. Nothing wrong with me at all. I had been campaigning for elections like a mad man. I needed a check-up. You`d be happy to know my blood pressure was like that of a 12-year old. I need to stay fit for the long struggle ahead. "In fact I recommend a regular check-up for everyone above the age of 40," said Shatrughan, who was recently re-elected from Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency in Bihar. His wife Poonam Sinha said "It was just exhaustion" and added: "Shatruji returned to Mumbai on Saturday morning after a grueling month of electioneering. I had accompanied him all through the election campaign in Patna." She said that when they landed here, she took him straight from the airport to the hospital for his bi-annual checkup. "Though everything on his health-front was declared fine, Shatruji stayed back in the hospital for a day just to rest out," she said. Poonam, known to serve sumptuous meals at home, has stopped the flow of food. "We all have diet food because of Shatruji`s health. Even guests have to eat the same health-conscious food," she said.
