New Delhi: Bollywood's one of the most revered and biggest award shows-- International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has set its foot in Madrid this year.

According to a report in IANS, 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress, Freida Pinto will be honoured with International Icon award at the 17th edition of the gala, which will begin on Thursday.

 

IIFA every year not only honours the stars of Bollywood but is a prolonged show that gets you closer to your favourite stars.

Freida shot to fame in no time with her terrific performance in 'Slumdog Millionaire' and only added to her fame with her work in 'Miral', 'Day of the Falcon', 'Immortals' and 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'.

Not only has she showcased her talent on screen, Pinto has been active with social causes and contributes to society with campaigns like 'Girl Rising'.

Report further suggests that Freida will be flying to Monrovia along with First Lady of the US Michelle Obama for 'Let Girls Learn' -- a government initiative aimed at helping girls obtain quality education.
