Mumbai: Ness Wadia, businessman and co owner of Kings XI Punjab, has denied the allegations of molestation by ex-girl friend, Preity Zinta.
Preity went to the cops on Thursday night claiming that Wadia had molested her, among other charges.
Wadia expressed shock and disbelief and made a statement to the reporters saying, "I am shocked at the complaint and the allegations made against me are totally false and baseless."
He also said that it was not possible for him to molest or manhandle the actress as she is always surrounded by bouncers. He also said that the two have had differences for a while now over various issues, and that he had no idea that Zinta would have filed a police case against him.
A source close to Wadia said that the businessman had got engaged in an argument with the actress over lack of courtesy being shown to his elderly mother, "Which has now been twisted and turned into a molestation case."
Preity registered an FIR against Wadia under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
The FIR mentions that the two had altercations in the past as well, during which Preity had warned Ness of action in the future.
The police have said in a statement that it will take statements from both Preity and Ness separately after viewing the videos of the alleged incident from the tapes from the May 30th IPL match.
