New Delhi: Bollywood actor Imran Khan was invited to a state dinner by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Apparently, the visiting Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam and his wife Veena had made a special request to Indian authorities to invite Imran Khan for dinner at Hyderabad House on Tuesday, Feb 7.

Imran’s films such as ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ (2008) and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ (2010) did extremely very well in Mauritius.

Imran had to take time off from the busy promotion schedules of his upcoming ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’ to attend the event.

Earlier, when Imran was asked to comment, he acknowledged it by saying, “It’s a great honor to be invited for dinner by PM. Since I am in the middle of promotions, I have requested Karan to give me a couple of hours off to attend the special event.”

Interestingly, a few days ago ‘Kolaveri di’ sensation Dhanush was invited by the PM for an official gala in honour of his Japanese counterpart Yoshihiko Noda.
