Mumbai: Australian fast bowler, Brett Lee has a massive fan following in India and the handsome speedster feels very much at home whenever he is in the Indian subcontinent. Wondering who made India a second home to Lee?
Its none other than Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who also happens to be Lee’s closest Indian friend.
Talking to a daily, Lee expressed his fondness for Zinta and said, “I’d gotten to know Preity Zinta very well when I played for Kings XI Punjab, and yes, she’s one of my closest friends in India.”
The good-looking cricketer rose to popularity in India after he cut an album with legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle.
Discussing his charity foundation and his love for music, Lee said, “Music is an essential part of my life. We being the fortunate ones don’t realise the struggles underprivileged children have to go through. We just want to give them an opportunity to realise their dreams.”
Lee, who is currently in India to promote his noble initiate, feels fortunate to find friends in Shah Rukh Khan. Talking to another daily, Lee said, “I have been fortunate enough to be friends with actor Shah Rukh Khan and his close friends and of course Preity Zinta has been a good friend all throughout but I don’t want to divert from the cause. This is about music and my initiative and I want to do it entirely my way.”
Looks like Lee is following in the footsteps of ex-Australian captain Steve Waugh!
