Mumbai: Bollywood’s enfant terrible Salman Khan rings in his 46th birthday in the most eventful year of his career, with ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard’ being two major money-spinner’s of the year.
Known for his wild child image, Salman Khan has come a long way from ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (1989) to ‘Bodyguard’ (2011). Growing from strength to strength, Salman overcame his personal and professional demons and took on his biggest competitors in Bollywood to carve a unique identity of his own in tinsel town.
Talking to a daily on the rise of Salman Khan, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “Today, Salman is invincible. The public always loved him, now even the media loves him.”
Producer-distributor NR Pachisia echoed similar sentiments when he said, “If you take the sum total of Salman’s Box Office collections over the last three years, you are bound to come to a mind-boggling figure. Yes, he is the most bankable star today.”
Interestingly, not long ago, Salman’s close friend and Bollywood star Aamir Khan had said, “Salman deserves all the success because he is a simple guy at heart. It is his simplicity that makes him such a favourite with the masses.”
