Jay-Z and Ashley Cole team up to open London club
London: Pop star Cheryl Cole`s former husband Ashley Cole is collaborating with rapper Jay-Z to open a night club.
Ashley, 30, and Jay-Z, 41, are seting up a restaurant-cum-nightclub, which will employ unemployed young people and donate some profits to good causes, reported a website.
The duo, who are said to be planning an ultra-posh eatery, have already created a shortlist of top chefs to work there.
The club will be called `40/40`, which is the name of Jay Z`s US chain of nightclubs. The Hip-hop mogul already owns successful clubs in five American cities.
Besides the chain of clubs, Jay-Z also has a multi-million pound clothing line called `Rocawear`, part-owns the New Jersey Nets basketball team and has invested heavily
in a line of beauty products.
The ace footballer hopes to put money into backing young film-makers in London.
"This is the perfect way for Ashley to improve his image. He`s aware his football career won`t last forever and this is the ideal way to launch into a new area of expertise. He knows that his reputation isn`t great and working with charities and disillusioned young people would help," said a source.
