JK Rowling reaches financial settlement with former agent
London: Harry Potter author, JK Rowling has reached an “amicable” financial agreement with former agent Christopher Little, with whom she ended her longstanding relationship last year.
Almost seven months after it was disclosed that Rowling had dumped the agent who conjured up her millions, the Harry Potter author has managed to avoid an appointment with him in court, the Telegraph reported.
“JK Rowling and her former agent, Christopher Little, have reached an amicable agreement concluding their long-standing business relationship, the terms of which remain confidential,” a spokesman for Little said.
“No further comments will be issued by either party.”
Little, 69, who spotted the potential of Rowling’s first manuscript and turned her novels about the child wizard into a multi-million pound industry, resorted to taking a legal action as he was “disappointed and surprised” to be informed that Rowling had “terminated her association” with his eponymous agency.
Moreover, Rowling, who has an estimated fortune of 530million poinds, joined one of his business partners, Neil Blair, at a new agency that he set up.
