New Delhi: Be it walking down the ramp or venturing into the Bollywood film industry as an actor and then as a producer, John Abraham has left one and all spellbound. If rumours are anything to go by, this handsome hunk has charged Rs 15 crore to star in the ‘Welcome’ sequel.
According to a tabloid, the 40-year-old actor, who is said to have replaced Akshay Kumar in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Welcome’ sequel, has been paid this enormous amount considering his growing popularity with his upcoming movie with Sanjay Gupta.
“Nadiadwala wanted to make the sequel of his film since quite some time now. However when talks with Akshay Kumar fizzled out, Firoz was looking for another option. Anees and Firoz decided to cast John and they have apparently paid him Rs 15 crore for the film. Given that John’s upcoming film with Sanjay Gupta is being much talked about, it was but obvious that the actor would be commanding a price like this,” the tabloid reported.
It is also said that the sequel, which also stars Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar, all set to roll towards the end of this year.
However, producer Firoz Nadiadwala refuses to reveal further information, as he said, “No, nothing like that! Also, `Welcome Back` will be a complete family entertainer.”
Well, it seems like we have to wait for more time before the cat gets out of the bag!
