London: Jon Voight is said to have finally made up with his daughter Angelina Jolia after a long family feud ended in late 2009.
The veteran actor was pictured taking control of Jolie’s brood while his daughter and Brad Pitt were away on business.
The 72-year-old also took Jolie’s children Pax, 7, Zahara, 6 and Shiloh, 5, to the park last weekend, looking thrilled in his role as grandfather and buying them each an ice cream.
The 36-year-old actress’ relationship with her father came to a head shortly after she adopted Cambodian born Maddox, who is now ten years old.
Voight spoke out in an interview at the time to say his daughter has “serious mental issues” which caused the furious star to cut contact with her father.
“They could have decided he’s right, she’s crazy, let’s remove that child from her custody, and that’s unforgivable,” the Daily Mail quoted Jolie as retaliating at that time.
“My father and I don’t speak. I don’t believe that somebody’s family becomes their blood. Because my son’s adopted, and families are earned,” she added.
After the death of the ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider’ actress’ mother Marcheline Bertrand in 2007, Voight repeatedly attempted to make contact with her, but it was only in 2009 after some persuasion from Pitt that the star agreed to a reconciliation.
