Kamal Haasan turns 60!

Mumbai: An actor par excellence and philanthropist by choice, Kamal Haasan is a multi-talented personality, who has fans spread across all age groups. From being a child artist to becoming one of the stalwarts of Indian Cinema, Kamal has tasted success with dedication and hard work. And today, the magnanimous megastar turns 60.

The veteran actor began his film career as a child artist in `Kaluthur Kannamma` and won the National Award for Best Child Artist in 1960. He is the only actor to have won three National Awards for Best Actor.

He has acted in Hindi films `Ek Duje Ke Liye`, `Sadma`, `Ek Nai Paheli`, `Chachi 420` , `Hey Ram` to name a few. He is a multi-linguist who has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.

Kamal is the first celebrity to have turned his fan club into a social service centre. He has also pledged to donate his organs to medical students for research.

The ‘Vishwaroopam’ actor was recently nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ‘Clean India Campaign’. The veteran accepted the PM’s invite and asked all his fans to take part in the noble initiative in order to make India a cleaner nation.

Kamal will soon be seen in ‘Uttama Villain’, ‘Papanasam’ and ‘Vishwaroopam 2’. Here’s wishing the legendary actor a very Happy 60th Birthday!
