New Delhi: It`s the king of comedy versus the king of romance on social networking site Facebook. Yes you heard it right! The undisputed comedy king Kapil Sharma has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan in the race for the number of likes on their respective official pages.
While SRK enjoys 8.3 million likes on his page, we have a relatively new entrant Kapil Sharma getting 9.3 million likes, beating King Khan at least in the virtual world.
Sharma`s popularity multiplied after he made up splash on TV with `Comedy Nights With Kapil`, his debut home production, thereby making him the sole comedian with such a mammoth fan following. Interestingly, like Kapil, Shah Rukh too began his career on television. SRK`s first stint with TV was through `Fauji`, that gave him instant recognition and later on he went on to do many more serials before becoming the superstar of Indian cinema.
Incidentally, SRK liked Kapil`s show so much so that he twice made an appearance on the show during the promotion of his film `Chennai Express`.
The comedian has signed a three-film contract with one of the biggest production houses- YRF. He apparently is working hard to lose weight for his role in the film.
Well, it`s certainly good news for Kapil as he truly is following the `badshah` Khan`s footsteps.
