New Delhi: Ace filmmaker Karan Johar doesn't really shy away from making bold statements or speaking his mind on anything. This time the director was nominated in a 'rice bucket challenge' by none other than the veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, so excels in the above mentioned department quite well.
KJo wilfully accepted the challenge and took to micro-blogging site Twitter, announcing the same. He posted: “#ricebucketchallenge accepted @MaheshNBhatt..From dharma on its way to good karma.I nominate our CEO @apoorvamehta18”.

Earlier, actress-turned-singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi took the challenge and successfully completed it. She donated the rice bucket to needy and posted her picture on Twitter. The actress-turned-singer nominated her former husband Shekhar Kapur, filmmaker Ken Ghosh, and one more director for the challenge.
After the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) 'ice bucket challenge' in the West took over the celebrities across the world by storm, the desi version of 'rice bucket challenge' is indeed catching up fast. The initiative started by a Hyderabadi woman journalist, urges people to either cook or buy one bucket of rice to the needy.
We do hope like the 'ALS ice bucket', the 'rice bucket' in East does make a difference!
