Karisma Kapoor turns to radio, excited about new platform

Mumbai: After dabbling in films and television, actress Karisma Kapoor has now turned radio jockey (RJ), and will host a special segment on an FM station. She says she just wanted to try a new medium.

Karisma will turn into an RJ for a special segment on 92.7 BIG FM`s show ‘BIG Memsaab’, from Dec 24 to March 24.

"This is a totally new avenue, something I have never done. I am lucky enough I had a career for a long period of time. Like I said, I have done films, television, I also have a portal, so why not radio! It`s something new and different for me to do," she said here Tuesday at the launch of her show.

The 38-year-old debuted in 1991 with ‘Prem Qaidi’ and continuously worked till she got married in 2003.

Karisma`s show is going to be about fashion and style.

"It`s not about standing out, it`s like I wanted to do something new. I have got opportunities to do something on different platforms, why not radio. I think over the years people have appreciated my style. So here I am getting an entire show based on style and where I can help women across India," she said.

Karisma made a comeback to films this year with ‘Dangerous Ishq’. She will soon start shooting for the remake of ‘Satte Pe Satta’.
