Katherine Heigl had no friends in Hollywood

London: Actress Katherine Heigl led a lonely life in her initial days in Hollywood as she struggled hard to make friends.

The `27 Dresses` star, who has a 20-month-old daughter Naleigh with husband Josh Kelley, lived with her mother Nancy until she was 22 and did not have any friends in the industry, Contactmusic reported.

"My mum was my roommate and only friend for a long time because it is hard to meet people in Hollywood. I did not move out until I was 22 and suddenly I was living on my own, which was terrifying," she said.

Despite their separation, the 31-year-old actress insists she is as close to her mother as ever.

"She has been my number one supporter and I have been hers. She is the one person who`s respect I hope to earn," said Heigl.

The actress, whose career is managed by her mother, recently admitted nothing she does in her films shocks her mom.

Speaking about her film `The Ugly Truth`, which she starred in with Gerard Butler, Heigl said, "The language is wild, but she has heard a lot worse from me. Do not tell her I said this, but she can dish out those raunchy words pretty well herself."

"She is never there when we film that stuff, and it is not just because she does not want to worry me," Heigl added.
