Katie Holmes loves books

London: Actress Katie Holmes loves being surrounded by books because they make her feel "peaceful and happy".

The 36-year-old actress, who has nine-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise, said she finds it easy to switch off from work as she keeps her personal and professional lives separate, reported Contactmusic.

"I don't take my work home with me. We're just playing characters so I do my work and then I go home and live my life. I love reading books, which makes me feel very peaceful and happy. A room full of books is one of the most peaceful places to be," she said.

Holmes has most recently been shooting a crime drama "Ray Donovan" and struggled with the character because of a mouthpiece she had to wear.

"I have a role in the new season of 'Ray Donovan', playing

the daughter of a very wealthy family who is sort of a femme fatale. She wears braces on her teeth, which I'm always messing up with because they're always falling out."
