Katrina’s politico image marred by her poor Hindi

The beautiful Katrina Kaif recently found herself at loss of words, while attending a press conference, accompanied by Prakash Jha and the entire cast of her much-awaited film ‘Raajneeti’. The normally verbose actress was finding it difficult to express her views because the language this time she preferred to speak to the media was Hindi. Katrina did start to speak in Hindi but intermittently would get back to English.

Mumbai: The beautiful Katrina Kaif recently found herself at loss of words, while attending a press conference, accompanied by Prakash Jha and the entire cast of her much-awaited film ‘Raajneeti’. The normally verbose actress was finding it difficult to express her views because the language this time she preferred to speak to the media was Hindi! Queen’s tongue is what Katrina prefers while conversing with people at media gatherings. Rarely the girl dabbles in Hindi, but this time – journalists came prepared and they knew that for ‘Raajneeti’, director Prakash Jha has painstakingly made the actress learn Hindi so that she can justify the role of a woman politician. Even the scribes wanted Katrina to answer their queries in chaste Hindi, something, which the director claims the actress has spoken fluently in the film. Katrina did start to speak in Hindi but intermittently would get back to English, when at loss of words. This made journalists break into laughter and doubted if she’ll ever be able to speak effortless Hindi? When insisted to continue speaking in broken Hindi, a visibly upset Katrina came with a befitting reply, “The problem is that I am talking in Hindi but you want to listen only in English”. Her answer was strong enough to silence the giggles. The director of the film Prakash Jha quickly came to Katrina’s defence, explaining that Katrina’s Hindi language training came handy during the dubbing of the film. “It’s a different ballgame altogether in the recording studio where the actual Hindi expertise comes into picture. Katrina has done a fabulous job in the film. Beyond the film if she is comfortable speaking English in her personal life, I don’t sense any problem in that”. Well, Hindi might be foreign language for Katrina, but when it comes to her fan base in the Hindi heartland, she is a definite winner!
