New Delhi: Pakistani director Sabiha Sumer, best known for her Kirron Kher-starrer post-Partition drama "Khamosh Pani", has teamed up with Indian actress Kalki Koechlin for a documentary that will attempt to understand why people in India and Pakistan are resorting to religious extremism.

The project, which comes at a time when the relationship between the two countries is going through a rough patch, is currently at crowdfunding website www.Wishberry.In.

Titled "Azmaish/ Trials of life", the project is about the search of two women -- Koechlin and Sumer.

"Kalki and I go on an extraordinary journey across India and Pakistan to understand why people in our countries are taking to religious extremism for answers," Sumer said.

The documentary deals with something that is affecting every life in these two countries, she said.

Sumer's goal is to raise the required funds in 60 days and if she does not manage it, the money will be returned to the funders.
