London: Twilight director Bill Condon has urged fans to show Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson “respect” in the wake of the affair scandal that has rocked their relationship.
He said that they are just actors and have the right to privacy and respect.
It follows weeks of abuse after Stewart cheated on Pattinson with married ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ director Rupert Sanders.
“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that,” the Daily Mail quoted Condon as telling Entertainment Weekly.
“Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success.
“Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them,” he added.
