Lata Mangeshkar breaks her silence of Tanmay Bhat’s SnapChat video joke
Lata Mangeshkar feels one mustn’t give too much attention to people who thrive on maligning people.
Mumbai: AIB co-founder Tanmay Bhat has been making headlines for all wrong reasons. The comedian drew massive flak for his ‘distasteful’ joke on two Bharat Ratna recipients – Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar – a few days back. And now, the veteran singer seems to have finally broken her silence on the whole fiasco.
A report in DNA suggests that the legendary musician is not upset because of the joke but it ended up bothering her admirers.
In an interview with DNA, the singer revered as the ‘Nightingale of India’ said, “Log bahot pareshan ho gaye. Mujhe yeh bura laga. I don’t like the idea of people getting hassled because of me. I want to assure all my well-wishers that these (spoofs, etc) are very small matters. There are far greater issues in life. We must not give undue importance to those who thrive on maligning people. I am sure they have their reasons for doing what they do.”
Mangeshkar hasn’t watched the video yet because she doesn’t get affected by petty things because she has faced enough hardships in life since she was a little girl.
