Mumbai: Legendary actor Pran, who passed away Friday night at the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai, after prolonged illness, has been cremated.
The last rites took place at the Shivaji Park crematorium.
Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha Karan Johar, Gulzar, Danny Denzongpa, Raza Murad, Shakti Kapoor, Tinu Anand and Anupam Kher were present at the venue.
Friends and well wishers had gathered outside the crematorium, where the last rites of the veteran were performed by his sons.
A flower-decked ambulance had carried the 93-year-old actor`s body from the private hospital in suburban Bandra for Shivaji Park in Central Mumbai.
The legendary actor is survived by his wife Shukla, daughter Pinky, and sons Arvind and Sunil.
"It is indeed a very sad day for us. The last rites were performed by both the sons," daughter Pinky told reporters.
The veteran actor, whose real name is Pran Krishan Sikand, appeared in over 400 films between 1940s and 1990s and played both positive and negative roles with equal passion.
He is known for for performances in films like `Khandaan`, `Madhumati`, `Milan`, `Aurat`, `Bari Behen`, `Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai`, `Half Ticket`, `Upkar`, `Purab Aur Paschim`, `Don`, `Zanjeer` and `Amar, Akbar, Anthony`.
