Washington: Lindsay Lohan, who will play Dame Elizabeth Taylor in a TV movie ‘Liz and Dick’, feels a “connection” to the screen icon because she treasures a ring given to her by the late actress. The troubled star was given the piece of costume jewellery with a motivational letter from Taylor before she died.
“I treasure it. It came with this beautiful note handwritten by Elizabeth Taylor, which was very encouraging about my work - and that work is something I should concentrate on,” a website has quoted her as saying.
“It’s a costume ring. It has cognac-coloured stone with precious stones set around it. After I was sent it, I put the ring and the letter in a safe place so I wouldn’t lose it. But I took them out recently when I was asked to portray her. It’s a tiny connection to her,” the ‘Mean Girls’ star added.
Lohan is now using the ring to help her prepare to play the screen icon in the upcoming movie. The biopic will focus on Taylor``s love affair with Richard Burton. The actress admits she is taking the role extremely seriously and hopes it will give her the chance to resurrect her once glittering career.
“I realise how important it is not to muck this up. This is my chance to get on with my life,” she added.
