Lily Allen`s `village wedding` to have police protection

London: Pop star Lily Allen`s wedding will be a low key "village" affair but the nuptials will take place under the watchful eyes of the police who will cordon off all the roads leading up to the venue.

The `Smile` hitmaker is preparing to tie the knot with builder Sam Cooper at a church in Gloucester, not far from their USD 4 million country pile.

The local choir will sing and flowers from a nearby garden will be used at the morning wedding on June 11.

The road which runs past the tiny church and surrounding public footpaths will be closed by police from 7.30 am to 1pm, with only the wedding party and guests allowed through, reported Daily Mail online.

"She is very generously going to use the village choir. She wants to have a typical village wedding. She is very sweet. She has come to the village and is asking for help where she needs it. We hope it goes well," said a neighbour of the 26-year-old.

But unlike other village brides, Allen will be wearing a bespoke wedding dress made by Chanel`s Karl
