Mumbai: No one could ever imagine that a lanky 6 feet something and an ordinary looking actor could some day be termed as the actor of the millennium. He was denied a job with the All India Radio for not supposedly having a powerful voice. But destiny had the best in offer for him. Perhaps something better than the best.
Amitabh Bachchan, the living legend will be honoured by producer Bunty Walia for his contribution to the Hindi film industry on his birthday this year. And the concert titled ‘Forever Bachchan’ will see contemporary superstars shaking legs to chartbusters from Big B’s films.
Talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, “The show is the brain-child of Walia. When Amitji learnt of this, he was embarrassed.”
And a humble soul that he is Big B wondered who would want to dance to the songs featuring him.
He quipped, “Who would want to dance to my songs? Don’t they’ve anything better to do?” But Walia was adamant. It has taken him a year to convince the Big B that the concert is a good idea.
But little did Big B know that Shah Rukh Khan had already picked ‘Khaike paan Banaras wala’ to pay tribute to the legendry actor in his own way. And Kapoor kid Ranbir has opted for ‘Saara zamana haseeno ka deewana’ from the film ‘Yaarana’.
However, Bunty preferred to remain tightlipped about the special show. He said, “It’s really too early to talk about this. Nothing has been confirmed yet. It is my dream project. We’re a long way from going on stage.”
