Madhur Bhandarkar gets ‘Heroine’ for Rs 1 lakh
Mumbai: Ace filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is known for not only churning blockbusters, but also for coming up with most apt titles for his film. So while most of B-town directors still opt for long-winded titles, Madhur is known to stick to one-word titles for his films.
And the taskmaster will go to any length to get the right name for his next film with Kareena Kapoor, which is reportedly based on the life of sensational Marilyn Monroe.
According to the latest buzz, Bhandarkar wanted to call his film ‘Heroine’. However, as Guddu Dhanoa had already claimed the title, Madhur had no option but to strike negotiations with the filmmaker.
After much hustle and bustle, Madhur figured out an answer that worked for both him and Dhanoa. Talking about Madhur’s intelligent solution, a source said, “He decided to donate Rs 1 lakh to Guddu Dhanoa`s charity and became the new owner of the title”.
Talking about the title, Madhur said, "I wanted a one-word title as it goes with the subject of my film, which is based on a top celebrity. It was done in the spirit of goodwill and I`m happy that I have the title now."
Looks like all worked out well for both the parties.
