Many present day films are repetitive: Soumitra

Kolkata: Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee feels that current films are mostly repetitive and he has been tired of being part of similar subjects.
"I have turned up in over 350 films, but of late I have found that many of them deal with the same subject over and over again, which puts me off," Chatterjee said. The 79-year-old actor, who is also a theatre artiste, recently turned singer for a feature film. For the first time, Chatterjee sang a Rabindra Sangeet (Tagore song) in "Jara Roddure Bhijechhilo". He sang Tagore`s famous song `Jodi Tomar Bani......He Bondhu He Priyo`. Speaking on how he got Chatterjee to sing for his film, the director, Bhargonath Bhattacharya, said, "During one of the shooting sessions, I heard the actor humming Rabindra Sangeet in between shots. I asked him if was willing to sing for his film and the actor agreed." The song will appear in the end of the movie as part of the title track, the director said.
