Mumbai: Mairaj Shaikh, the first husband of Manyata Dutt, actor Sanjay Dutt`s wife, has written a letter to Bombay High Court accusing Sanjay of "implicating" him in false cases.
Mairaj alleges in the letter written from Mumbai jail, where he is currently lodged, that Dutt threatened to implicate him in false cases if he did not withdraw the case he had filed against the actor for bigamy in January this year.
Also, one month earlier, Dutt`s "underworld friends" had kidnapped Mairaj`s six-year-old son, Mustafa, he says.
Dutt wanted him to hold a press conference and declare that he had divorced Manyata, Mairaj alleges.
Mairaj further says that when he approached N M Joshi Marg police in this regard, they refused to register a case against Dutt for "implicating" and kidnapping.
The letter, addressed to the chief justice, was placed before division bench of Justices BH Marlapalle and AM Mohta, and has been turned into a petition.
The bench today sought a reply from police in this regard in four weeks time.
Mairaj is currently in jail facing trial in a case in which he is accused to have sent lewd text messages to an actress.
