Michael Jackson of India, Prabhu Deva turns 41

New Delhi: Renowned dancer turned actor turned director, Prabhu Deva turns 41 on the 3rd April.

Prabhu Deva is probably best known for his dance and is the Chairman and Director of the Prabhudheva`s Dance Academy in Singapore.

Born in Mysore, Karnataka, Shankupani Sundaram, later known as Prabhu Deva, is the son of Mugur Sundar and was inspired in dancing by his father. In 1989, Prabhu Deva first tried his hand – feet – at choreography for the film ‘Vetri Vizha’.

From acting to direction, Prabhu Deva’s list of accomplishments is an endless one. He has helmed successful ventures such as `Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana`, `Shankardada Zindabad`, `Pokkiri`, `Wanted`, `Rowdy Rathore` and his latest production in 2013 with Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha `R... Rajkumar`.

Apart from other awards, he has won two National Film Awards for Best Choreography in 1997 for `Minsaara Kanavu`and in 2004 for `Lakshya`.
