Mika Singh embroiled in Hummer hit-and-run case
Mumbai: A Hummer knocked down an auto rickshaw and rammed into a bus stop near Darshan Field Club on JP Road, Versova in the wee hours on Satursay and eye witnesses claimed Bollywood singer Mika was behind the wheels.
While Mika Singh has denied he was driving the Hummer, the area police officials said they have eye-witnesses, including two cops, who saw Mika running away from the spot after abandoning the car.
A senior police officer said, "We will call Mika Singh for questioning as there are several eye witnesses who have confirmed that he was driving the vehicle.”
A passenger in the auto suffered serious injuries as the black Hummer, according to eye-witnesses, swerved dangerously while hitting the rickshaw.
Two cops, who were on a patrol, have told D N Nagar police that they saw Mika getting off the car and run away.
The damaged auto`s driver, Gyan Bahadur Chavan, 28, who helped injured passenger Rajashri Aangane out of the damaged vehicle and took her to Cooper Hospital, said he saw Mika at the Hummer`s wheel.
"I saw his face. It was singer Mika Singh. Before I could get out of the auto and help the injured passenger, he sped away," Chavan said.
Meanwhile, Singer Mika Singh has denied being involved in a hit and run case that happened on Saturday morning on JP Road in Versova. The singer clarified, “I returned from Dubai on 9th morning and walked out of the airport at around 6am to go home in my Fortuner car. I am told this accident happened at 5 am. I don`t even know the owner of this Hummer in question.”
