Momsen blames parents for `bad girl` image

Los Angeles: `Gossip Girl` star Taylor Momsen, who is in the news repeatedly for her rowdy behaviour and explicit dressing, holds her parents responsible for her `bad girl` tag.

The 17-year-old actress and singer said she`s "miserable," and that her parents are to be blamed for it, reported a magazine.

"Everyone`s like, `Why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?` My parents signed me up with Ford (modeling agency) at the age of two. No two-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice," Momsen said.

Momsen, known for her hooker-inspired outfits and heavy black eye-liner, was once a child star. She acted in `How the Grinch Stole Christmas` at the age of seven.

She insisted her childhood was ruined by overbearing parents who forced her into acting.

"My whole life, I was in and out of school. I didn`t have friends. I was working constantly and I didn`t have a real life," said Momsen.

Though she seems sad to have missed out on being a kid, Momsen has been doing everything possible to shed her teen image and appear older.

She stripped down to her underwear in the latest music video for her band, Pretty Reckless, and flashed an audience last month during a performance.
