Naturally drawn to grey characters: Vivek Oberoi

He has portrayed negative characters like Chandu from "Company", Mahindra "Maya" Dolas in "Shootout at Lokhandwala". Actor Vivek Oberoi, who is now all set to slip into the role of underworld don Muthappa Rai in the upcoming film “Rai”, says he enjoys such characters.

On being asked what made him portray “Rai”, Vivek said in an interaction in the capital: “I'm naturally more attracted to roles that have a grey shade. I enjoy that as an actor.”

The 39-year-old actor added that “Rai” is not just a gangster film.

To get into the character of "Rai" -- directed by Ram Gopal Varma -- Vivek spent a week with the former underworld don Muthappa Rai in Bengaluru to understand his mannerism and to get the first-hand account of what happened in his life.

The actor, who was appreciated for his work in "Saathiya", also said he will do a love story soon, "for sure".

His latest release is "Great Grand Masti", the third installment in the "Masti" series. Directed by Indra Kumar, it also features Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Urvashi Rautela in lead roles.
