Om Puri tenders unconditional apology to Parliament

New Delhi: Actor Om Puri, who raised a storm by dubbing MPs as "illiterate" at an anti-corruption rally, has tendered an unconditional apology to Parliament.

In a letter to the Lok Sabha, Puri has offered an unconditional apology. Speaker Meira Kumar is yet to take a call but the matter is likely to end after the apology, Parliament sources said. Puri had come under attack in both Houses of Parliament with several members serving privilege notices against the actor for using "derogatory and defamatory" language against politicians.

During Anna Hazare`s agitation at Ramlila grounds on the Lokpal issue, Puri had allegedly targeted politicians and used derogatory and defamatory language against them.
