Oscar criticism was awful: Anne Hathaway

Los Angeles: After James Franco, Anne Hathaway has also spoken about her agony over being dubbed the worst Oscar host. The two stars, the youngest ever stars to host the Oscar ceremony, were criticised brutly in the US media. They claimed that Hathaway looked over-enthusiastic opposite Franco, who appeared bored during the February event. “They said we were the worst show ever. I think that qualifies as tough," the 29-year-old told NBC`s Today show. Franco recently said may be he had "low energy" but insisted, "I honestly played those lines as well as I could." Hathaway says she thinks about the Oscars as "several different experiences." "There was the critical reaction, which was awful. Then there are the people who have been coming up to me since then who stop and say, `I thought it was fantastic. I watched it with my family and we were entertained.` I am very grateful to those people. "And then there`s my memory of it - which is , whether it was great or whether it stunk, who knows? I still got to walk out on the Kodak and see those people and someday I`ll get to tell my grandkids about it," said the `Rio` star. When asked whether given a chance she would like to host Oscars again, Hathaway seemed uncertain. "Why not? I don`t know. Maybe. Perhaps. No," she said. PTI
