Pakistani singer Adnan Sami in ED net again!

Mumbai: Singer Adnan Sami’s eight properties and five parking spaces have been confiscated by The Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Foreign Exchange Management Act. According to the reports, ED slapped the penalty on Adnan on grounds of illegal possession of the estate and now as per FEMA, Adnan’s same belongings have become government properties.

Further, the Directorate also imposed a fine of Rs 20 lakh on the singer as being a Pakistan national, he was not allowed to acquire properties in India. The ED also charged him with purchasing properties without the permission of the Reserve Bank of India.

Adnan had purchased eight flats in a posh area in suburban Andheri for Rs 2.53 crore and taken loan of Rs 1.5 crore from Axis bank for the purchase.

ED officials said that in 2003, the actor had acquired immovable properties along with parking spaces in Oberoi Sky Garden housing society in Lokhandwala, Mumbai, all of which the officials claim were illegal.
