Paul McCartney not invited to daughter`s wedding

London: `Beatles` icon Paul McCartney was not invited to the wedding of his daughter Mary McCartney. The 40-year-old wed writer and director Simon Aboud, 44, at a Register Office in London and her father only came to know of it three days later when the groom posted a picture on his Twitter page, reported Daily Mail online. Hundreds of Beatles fans and the world`s media had crowded the same venue in 1969 when the singer had married Mary`s mother Linda in what they hoped would be a secret

ceremony. The 68-year-old singer-songwriter was obliviously preparing for a live gig on stage in Dublin, when Mary tied the knot. Mary decided not to invite her father because she did not want any media attention. "Paul and Mary are close and always have been but she did not want the event to become a Macca thing," said a source close to Mary. Besides the bride and groom, the only ones present at the wedding were her three children, a few friends, a registrar and a photographer. PTI
