Perry gifts Brand ticket to outer space on birthday

London: Singer Katy Perry has gifted her comedian fiance Russell Brand a 100,000 pounds birthday present that involves a trip to space. Perry, 25, slipped into an astronaut’s costume to present the gift at a surprise bash in LA where Brand celebrated his 35th birthday, and even got a cake decorated with a Union Flag.

“Russell thought it was just him and Katy going for dinner. He was bowled over when he walked into the restaurant and saw she had got all his pals and family together for a surprise party,” a news daily quoted a source at the party as saying. “Halfway through the dinner she walked in wearing a full astronaut outfit to give Russell the space trip. Everyone cheered for the Brit cake. Katy knows how proud he is of his roots,” the source added. Brand will board a spaceship and climb to 50,000ft, before the rocket motor sends the craft hurtling towards the edges of the atmosphere, and zero gravity kicks in. ANI
