PETA criticises Witherspoon
London: Animal rights group PETA has criticised actress Reese Witherspoon after she was spotted carrying a designer bag made of python skin.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has written a letter to the 35-year-old after she was seen revealing the price of the Chloe bag, reports contactmusic.com.
"No matter how much Reese paid for the bag, the animals paid a much higher price," said the statement issued by PETA.
"Every year, millions of snakes are impaled on hooks or nailed to trees by their heads and skinned alive. We can`t imagine that she`d wish to contribute to this hidden suffering, especially for something as frivolous as a fashion accessory that can be replicated with no bloodshed."
