Photos of Whitney in coffin infuriates fans

London: Shocking photos of Whitney Houston’s dead body in a US magazine has outraged fans, still reeling from her tragic passing at the age of 48.

The snaps show the diva lying in her golden coffin clothed in a purple dress.

The drug-ravaged star had on a diamond brooch and earrings, said to be worth more than 300,000 pounds.

The shots reveal she was laid to rest with a pair of gold slippers on her feet.

But the pictures, published in a US magazine, outraged fans still reeling from the singer’s sudden death at the age of 48, and took to their Twitter account in thousands to complain.

“There’s a special place in hell for the person who snuck a photo of Whitney Houston in her casket,” the Daily Star quoted one fan, kath3000 as saying.

Another fan, Peter Holder, wrote: “No privacy for Whitney, even in death.”

The photos, passed to the National Enquirer, were taken at Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey, where her family held a private wake on the eve of the ceremony.

Saturday’s service was attended by celebrities including Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey and Stevie Wonder.
