Pierce Brosnan drew on real life loss for painful role

Washington: Pierce Brosnan recalled the devastation of losing his first wife, who fought a 4-year-battle with ovarian cancer and died in 1991, for a new film in which he plays the role of a wealthy widower, who falls in love with a cancer patient.

The Irish actor admitted that the story of `Love Is All You Need` is close to reality for him, Contactmusic reported. "To watch someone you love have their life eaten away - bit by bit, by this insidious and horrid disease - becomes an indelible part of your psyche," the 59-year-old actor said. The Brosnan explained that when he received the script, the challenge of playing the part was not lost on him. He added that he knew the pain, the agony of waiting, being powerless and what it means to be a widower and to find love again. ANI
