A PIL against renowned actor  Prakash Raj has been filed in the Madras High Court for appearing in a jewellery advertisement which alleges to demean women.

New Delhi: A PIL against renowned actor  Prakash Raj has been filed in the Madras High Court for appearing in a jewellery advertisement which alleges to demean women.

Objecting to this ad, a teacher sought action against Raj who endorses the jewellery brand. 

In the ad, Raj refers to women of marriageable age as 'tensions` , which hasn't gone down well with the petitioner.

The actor clarified his stand on Twitter and said that it was not meant to hurt anybody.
