New Delhi: The Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case is getting murkier by the day. Ravi Pujari, a notorious gangster, had allegedly called and sent messages to Nusli Wadia, Ness`s father, and his employees threatening them to stay away from the Preity Zinta case. The Mumbai police have now confirmed that the caller was indeed identified as Pujari, and an FIR has been filed against the gangster. The police also deployed armed security outside the Wadia residence as well as their office, on Thursday. Pujari had apparently warned Nusli Wadia of dire consequences if the alleged harassment of Preity Zinta were to continue. The threats were issued over five telephone calls as well as through one text message. The call was traced to Iran. “We have received a complaint from Wadia`s office saying two employees received calls... The caller claimed to be Ravi Pujari and we are in the process of registering a case. Investigations have been transferred to the Anti-Extortion Cell,” DNA quoted Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria as saying on Wednesday. DNA also quoted DCP Patil, who said that this was not a extortion call. "The caller just warned Wadia asking him to stay away from Zinta`s matter. If required, we would record Zinta`s statement," Patil said. In Preity`s complaint on June 12, she had charged Ness with abusive behaviour in public, during an IPL match at Wankhede Stadium on May 30.
