New Delhi: The grand preparations have just begun to witness one of the most high-profile weddings of all times. Hollywood actor and filmmaker George Clooney is getting hitched to his fiancee Amal Alamuddin in a much-talked about wedding ceremony at Venice.

Guests from all across the world, including a host of Hollywood celebrities have started flocking to the destination wedding from Friday itself. The arrival of glamorous A-listers is clearly hinting to the fact that this is going to be a star-studded affair.

As of now, all those who have spotted include Clooney's cousin and actor Miguel Ferrer, Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin and Richard Kind. Model Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber were also seen along with the couple. Gerber, who is Clooney's long-time friend and business partner will reportedly be the best man in the wedding.

Clooney and his bride-to-be, who reached Venice on Friday, took a water-taxi on the Grand Canal and other boats bearing blue flags printed with initials 'A' and 'G' (first alphabets of their names respectively) waited at the airport to ferry all the guests.

However, the detail of the celebration is kept under wraps, as the preparation is in full swing. The city officials had earlier announced the closure of the 50-meter pedestrian access for two hours on the wedding day, as it fronts the Grand Canal, where the Cavalli Palace is located.

Clooney and the human rights lawyer Amal got engaged in April and obtained their marriage licenses in August, this year.
